Sellick Partnership is thrilled to have partnered with a Local Authority in the South in the recruitment for a permanent Senior Planning Lawyer.


Our client, a District Council, is seeking a Senior Planning Solicitor to join their Legal Services team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, supportive Legal Services team, working on a varied and interesting caseload of planning law matters, to include high value projects. There is also the opportunity to manage two members of staff within the team.


Our client is able to offer a very flexible working environment. If preferred, the successful candidate can work predominantly from home, with in-person attendance required for in-person afternoon committee meetings which occur twice per month and monthly team meetings.


Responsibilities of the Senior Planning Lawyer:

  • Provision of legal advice, representation, and assistance across the Council on all aspects of Town and Country Planning law
  • Represent the Council at twice monthly planning committee meetings
  • Supervise two members of staff within the Legal Services team


Experience required for the Senior Planning Lawyer:

  • Qualified solicitor, barrister or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of managing complex matters within Town and Country Planning Law
