Senior Mechanical Design Engineer now sought to join a dynamic and aspiring manufacturing company with over 25 years’ experience in the field of advanced industrial automation. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer £45,000 - £60,000 + paid overtime, pension & 25 days holiday 38 hour week – early Friday finish. Manchester based. Ref: 22879 Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role: ⦁ To understand customer requirements from discussions/technical documentation. ⦁ Produce customer sign off and technical documentation such as functional design specifications and system manuals. ⦁ Produce accurate, functional and cost-effective components and assemblies using 3D Solidworks CAD software. ⦁ Produce accurate 2D detail and assembly drawings to convey manufacturing and assembly information. ⦁ Produce accurate bills of materials, suitable for component procurement, spare parts lists and assembly records ⦁ Liaise with electrical design and controls engineers to determine suitable system requirements. ⦁ Support the machine commissioning activities in collaboration with the commissioning team to help ensure a successful FAT & SAT. ⦁ Provide occasional site support for customer meetings, projects scoping and SAT activities. ⦁ Carry out design calculations either by hand or using software to verifying suitability and performance. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person: ⦁ HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline ⦁ Able to produce 2D/3D drawings and models ⦁ Experience with Solidwork 3D software is essential for this role. ⦁ Experience with PDM / Vault software highly desired. ⦁ Experience designing Special Purpose Machinery, Robotics, Vision or Sensor systems would be highly advantageous. ⦁ An understanding of UKCA/CE Technical file creation. ⦁ Experienced in creating design documentation such as Functional Design Specifications. ⦁ Experience of FEA Analysis and calculations.
