Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Lawyer to work with Plymouth Council.

This will be a 6 to 12 month contract with the view to extend, working 37 hours per week.

Overview: * The post will suit someone with experience of this area of work whether in the public sector or private sector with relevant advocacy experience in the Family Courts.

* You will deliver expert legal support to client services on complex child protection matters by telephone or at meetings without prior knowledge of the facts.

* You will need to demonstrate professionalism as well as excellent communication and drafting skills together with a flexible and positive approach and an ability to work under pressure.

* You will have the ability to inspire confidence in clients and the courts.

* You will be a team player, building excellent relationships within the immediate team and client departments, as well as having the ability to work on your own.

* Legal casework is undertaken as allocated by the senior lawyer to include general and specific advice, instructing and liaising with Counsel, professional experts and surplus to capacity partners (work sent out to private practice).

* You will draft complex legal documents relating to their caseload.

Essential: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Location: Plymouth withy hybrid workingHourly rate is fully negotiable depending on experience.
