Job Description

Astrum Search is working alongside a fast-paced and rapidly expanding FinTech to recruit a Senior Internal Controls Manager. The role is London based with low travel.

The Senior Internal Controls Manager has been newly created and will work closely with the internal audit and risk management team to further enhance the global control framework. The role is highly visible and has significant scope to add tangible value across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance the internal control framework including management of the internal control roadmap and registers.
  • Assess process and policies for deficiencies and suggesting new or alternative controls to mitigate key risks.
  • Working with management to deliver control enhancement strategies.
  • Provide assurance of business-wide controls and issue reports of findings to management.
  • Own control registers, including monitoring of identified remediation activity.

    • Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in internal or external audit, internal controls, risk assessment/management, regulatory compliance or governance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate control deficiencies clearly, including being able to understand the root cause and significance of deficiencies.
  • Experience of managing senior stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Strong ability to organise and prioritise work to meet project requirements.
  • Hold a relevant accountancy or internal audit qualification (ACA/ACCA/IIA or similar).

    • This is an excellent role that has been newly created as part of continued growth across my clients governance functions. This will initially be a standalone role (although working very closely with colleagues in internal audit and risk), but there is scope to grow the team further in time.

    My client is expanding rapidly and is one of the fastest growing FinTech’s in Europe. They have excellent offices in Central London and operate a high achieving and inclusive culture.
