Job Description

Astrum Search is delighted to be working exclusively with a globally recognised retail business to recruit a new Senior Internal Auditor. The business is made up of a number of divisions and the internal audit team work across the Group. 

The role will report to the Senior Internal Audit Manager and is London based with a hybrid working patter (2 days per week on average).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal audit assignments in accordance with the internal audit plan as well as requests from management. 
  • Work with stakeholders to prepare detailed audit plans with a focus on key risks.
  • Perform rigorous audit testing whilst being flexible in response to findings and emerging risks. 
  • Agree issues, impact and route causes with management, providing recommendations to address control weaknesses.
  • Write clear, concise, robust and balanced audit reports.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the audit plan. 
  • Lead and manage assigned auditors during audit assignments.
  • Coach and help develop more junior members of the team.
  • Assist in facilitating the Enterprise Risk Management programme, ensuring management have identified risks, assessed them appropriately, and put suitable mitigations in place. 

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Qualified accountant or internal auditor (ACA/ACCA/IIA).
  • Prior internal audit experience is preferred but those from an external audit background with good controls experience will be considered.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills; able to influence senior stakeholders when required.
  • A level of professional integrity and able to work to deadlines.
