Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Manchester

Position Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Manchester, hybrid – 1-2 days from our Manchester office

Role Purpose:

To facilitate the development of the systems and platforms used internally to deliver consultant services to our customers. This is a technical hands-on role which requires a broad range of technical skills and overlaps between infrastructure/networking/linux. Utilising automation and infrastructure as code principals you will aid in the development and architecture of both new and existing systems.

• Ensuring that systems and platforms are implemented with best practice methods, security in mind, and to meet agreed availability and service level targets.
• Realising new systems and platforms based upon agreed upon and approved designs.
• Serving as a knowledge hub for platforms and services.
• Acting as a final point of escalation for any platform and service-related queries
• Providing engineering support for cross functional service teams.
• Working closely with Technical Operations to ensure that change activities are achieved.
• Maintaining relationships with software and service vendors.
• Collaborate with Technical Operations and Service Delivery in writing and maintaining documentation and training materials.
• Researching and integrating new technologies into the NCC Group network lifecycle.
• Working with the Governance and Change team, responsible for all budget expenditure related to platforms and services.

Key Accountabilities:

An infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the preparation and support of IT operations solutions and services, physical or virtual. They do so according to industry and organisational best practices, standards, service requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout the product life cycle. You will be expected to:

• Create and maintain documentation
• Mentor team members, sharing invaluable experience and expertise.
• Contribute to the management and successful completion of programs and projects.
• Ensure seamless integration and delivery of services as per requirements.
• Lead the design and architectural development of IT systems, collaborating closely with departments and stakeholders to oversee the creation of complex global IT solutions.
• Foster close collaboration with operational teams to maintain a unified global services platform.
• Uphold NCC Group's commitment to a unified, adaptable platform, continuously delivering the tools, interfaces, and components essential for our products and services.
• Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive digital transformation initiatives.
• Head cross-functional teams responsible for managing specific services or infrastructure types.
