Adecco Engineering are working with a market leader in the provision of turnkey Marine Heating Ventilation and AirConditioning (HVAC) systems who are looking for a senior electrical systems engineer based in Glasgow or Hillington. Our client has a portfolio of customers spanning the Naval, Commercial and the Offshore Renewable Energy sectors and can offer exciting challenges for both experienced engineers and those just starting out alike. In addition to HVAC, the company also provide engineering solutions for Chilled Water, Refrigeration and Fixed Firefighting systems.The role of Electrical Systems Engineer for sits at the core of their business. From supporting the preparation of tender responses through to the development of new HVAC operation and control systems, production of design documentation, technical support to commissioning teams and through life design change and upgrades, the role offers a unique opportunity to experience the full product lifecycle.Your primary responsibilities as an Electrical Systems Engineer will include but not limited to: Development of the clients' requirements into viable system designsDeveloping and managing the control philosophy for the HVAC systemProduce specifications for supplier/subcontractor deliverablesManaging all aspects of the HVAC control system design and the electrical equipment within the HVAC system.Managing the HVAC control systems interface with other ship systems, for example:Platform Management SystemLow Voltage Electrical Distribution SystemC&I (estops and hardwired safety)Condition Monitoring EquipmentChilled Water System Production of design documentation in accordance with contract requirements, including but not limited to:Interface Specification (control philosophy and PMS physical interface).Software Specification (software design, interface, management and security)I/O schedulesPart Drawings - including control panels and startersElectrical Load SchedulesCable SchedulesTermination SchedulesEarthing & Bonding SchedulesSingle Line DiagramsPrinciple Indication Diagrams (PID) Liaising with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including:Technical support to both internal and external client/ supplier design reviews.Integration, validation and safety reviewssuppliers and subcontractors design deliverable reviews including factory acceptance trials. Your skills and qualifications as an Electrical Design Engineer: Essential: HNC in Electrical Engineering, (equivalent trade qualification or vocational experience will be considered).Proven design experience with Marine Electrical Systems.Experience with naval electrical standards and classification societies.Proven client interface capability.Proven supplier management capability.Experience of PLC control (preferably with software design/specification experience). Experience in Control Panel design and specification.Desirable: 2D AutoCAD and ForanExperience of leading a small teamExperience in creating Bill of Materials (BOM) and product data management Proficient with Microsoft office, word excel, power point etc
