Meaning households in the UK can enjoy every wash with a cleaner conscience.Triton Showers are proud to have been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its outstanding commitment to Sustainable Development, which places sustainability at the heart of its long-term business strategy and Net Zero ambition.About the Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Product Development department as a Senior Design Engineer.Reporting to the Head of Product Development you will work collaboratively with the Triton team to deliver strategic and innovative product solutions, evolving Triton’s market leading product portfolio and supporting the vision to be the first name in showers & water heating.Key Responsibilities/functions * Take ownership for the design, development, and introduction of strategic projects. * Ensure products are designed to meet regulatory standards and performance levels specified for safety, function, and reliability. * Ensure that sustainability goals are transferred to new product design solutions. * Work closely with colleagues in cross functional teams to deliver products to market faster. * Use 3D CAD (SolidWorks) to create models, technical drawings and specifications. * Continuously evaluate and improve designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, increased quality and value. * Oversee and assist the design validation through the testing and development of products. * Ensure design solutions are within the financial and functional parameters. * Provide technical inputs and advice to the wider product development team on design matters and arising issues. * Help develop and commercialise new Innovations and technologies. * Ensure all tasks/projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality. * Communicates effectively and professionally with colleagues.Key skills essential: * Proven experience as a Design Engineer in the consumer goods appliance industry. * BTEC Higher National Certificate in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering (or equivalent). * 3D CAD, ideally with Sustainable Design Experience. * Technical report writing. * Experience in designing with plastic materials. * Working to tight timescales and budgets. * To be able to work both autonomously and collaboratively as required. * Positive attitude with an inquisitive nature.Key skills desirable: * Knowledge of applying sustainable design techniques * Worked in the showering product sectorFull training and support will be given to the successful candidate.
