A global Defence client with HQ’s around the U.

K are looking to bring onboard either a Security cleared or willing to be security cleared Senior Data Analyst to join the team based either in Manchester, Bristol, Brough, Portsmouth, Barrow-in-Furness, Frimley or Weymouth.

Although the base location for this opportunity will be mentioned above, the majority of responsibilities can undertaken remotely with periodic expensed travel the project HQ in Barrow – approx.

One short, blocked week per month.

The successful candidate will be joining a highly skilled team made up of Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Mechanical Engineers and Naval architects.

You will be tasked with managing and visualising large amounts of data and presenting to the Naval Architecture team, so we are looking for candidates with a strong background in Data Analysis and Data Visualisation (If you have implemented a Data Visualisation tool, that would be a bonus).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for managing and visualising high volumes of data and presenting to the Chief Naval Architect
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive database of parts.
  • Interrogate CAD models to determine estimates for mass properties with associated uncertainties.
  • Lead/mentor more junior members of the Data Analysis team

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership as part of the team (Prior leadership/management experience essential)
  • Worked with large datasets
  • Create data visualisations and customised dashboards using Python or other similar tool
  • Qualified in STEM subject or extensive experience

Desirable:

  • Experience working with large, complex Electrical or Mechanical systems
  • Data analysis experience including interpretation, manipulation and presentation
  • Experience of using CAD packages and programmes
