Our objective is to come up with actionable insights through data analysis to improve outcomes for customers and the business. We shape and drive change for a better OVO.

This role in a nutshell:

The Senior Data analyst will be responsible for gathering, reviewing and analysing data to generate actionable insights. They work closely with a large number of stakeholders on all levels and across the organisation to test hypotheses, validate insights and help drive change where there is value. Your activities fall in 4 main areas:

  1. Performance reporting to senior stakeholders - ensuring accurate and timely submissions of performance data (weekly and monthly) to senior stakeholder such as CEO and CCO for internal meetings and Board meetings
  2. Provide insights - supporting the Head of Commercial Optimisation and the Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) team in gathering, analysing and presenting actionable insights to CEO, CCO, VP of Growth and the Director for Customer Value Growth.
  3. From insights to benefits - engage stakeholders/ other teams to turn insights into actions to improve OVO's performance.
  4. Interrogating data sets and model outputs to help uncover issues in data, validate hypotheses and identify and root cause trends

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Work hand in hand with the CLV team to answer critical questions and unlock opportunities
  • Produce and update weekly and monthly dashboards and KPI scorecard used by CEO, CCO, and the broader leadership team to monitor business performance
  • Own the accuracy of the data and become expert on data flows and definitions within Commercial
  • Establish and proactively manage relationship with multiple stakeholders across the business to gather data and generate insights
  • Support broader teams with data requests including connecting multiple data sets from across the business to provide a rich picture to support with decision making
  • Help turn insights into action, collaborating with other teams and project manage some of the changes/activities identified

Systems : SQL, BigQuery Google Sheets, Excel

You'll be a successful Senior Data Analyst at OVO if you

  • Good to advanced knowledge of SQL and Big Query
  • Advanced Excel/ Google sheet skills
  • Experience and knowledge within the energy sector will be an advantage
  • Experience at visualising and analysing data to identify trends, inconsistencies and insights
  • Ability to start a project from conception and work with various teams to ensure a positive outcome
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to produce high quality deliverables.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work with a degree of autonomy
  • Comfortable navigating change and uncertainty, with a flexible working attitude.

We'll pay you between £40,000 and £50,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
