Working on exciting heritage and conservation projects and joining small but growing Principal Designer team. The role offers a salary of up £60,000 + 25 days holiday + Hybrid Working.The Architectural practice was founded in the 1940's and has grown to over 250 people across 11 UK offices. They have established themselves as an industry leader in planning advice, heritage consultancy, building surveying, conservation and contemporary architecture. Working with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers and individuals, they have been involved in the care and development of some of the best-loved buildings and in the UK and abroad. Reporting to the Head of CDM you will be delivering an exceptional advisory service to clients and internal teams whilst supporting the successful growth of the team through driving new business.Role & Responsibilities- Advise project design team members and clients on Health and Safety risk management matters in line with current UK and sometimes international CDM Regulations- Assist and support the Head of CDM- Help to promote and develop the role of CDM/Principal Designer internally and externally- Review projects and designs prioritising CDM PD appointed projects and advising on any other projects to allow office-wide consistency on pre-construction Health and Safety matters and standards- Collate, organise, and assist the client in providing pre-construction information- Manage and coordinate the health and safety aspects during the pre-construction phase- Prepare and issue the health and safety file on completion- Assist with compiling and developing guidance material and management tools- Develop and give training to in-house design disciplines- Carry out research into Health and Safety Standards (National and International) and good practice- Where necessary liaise with Enforcing Authorities- Critically appraise Design Risk Assessments submitted by project design team- Assist with the completion of Design Risk Assessments. Required Skills & Experience- Experience and understanding of CDM- Architecture or consultancy background- Proven skills in the delivery of CDM/H&S/Principal Designer consultancy services- NEBOSH Construction Certificate- CertIOSH membership or Member of APS- Degree qualified in an architecture, architectural technology or construction/engineering subject is preferred- Heritage project experience would be advantageous but is not essential.What you get back- Salary up to £60,000 (Negotiable)- 25 days annual leave, increasing up to a max of 30 days- Hybrid Working (3 days office and 2 days home)- Travel expenses / Mileage paid (Hire car option available if needed)- Optional healthcare cashback- Life assurance- Cycle to work scheme- Season ticket loan- Eye care vouchers- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.ApplyIf you meet the criteria above, send us your CV and portfolio.
