Join Sheffield City Council as a Senior Business Support Officer within Children’s Services

Do you possess exceptional organisational skills and a keen eye for detail? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Support Officer to join our varied and dynamic service.

As a Senior Business Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of our business processes.

Our Business Support Service offers an established career progression route and the experience needed to move into other areas within Sheffield City Council, such as Project Support, HR and Finance.

You will be joining an existing business support who provide minute taking support for complex meetings on behalf of Independent Reviewing Service, Child Protection and LADO services. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the service, our clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Day to day supervision and support for other Business Support staff as required. 
  • To provide efficient and effective business process & document production, including complex minute taking and customer services support to internal and external customers.
  • Provide effective financial monitoring and financial data reporting as required.
  • Requirements:

  • 5 GCSE or equivalent (including 1 GCSE in both English and Maths).
  • Proven experience in a similar administrative role.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
