Overview

The (Senior) Analytical Development Chemist will be responsible for the development and validation of new analytical methods crucial to advance FluoRok’s emerging technology. Working together with the process development and technology teams you will provide analytical chemistry expertise and you will be instrumental in establishing new protocols for purity determination and quality control of FluoRok’s material portfolio. You will oversee, maintain, and expand FluoRok’s growing analytical suite. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analytical tests using a variety of technique such as: HPLC and IC, ICP-OES, NMR
  • Develop and validate new analytical methods and sample preparation techniques for both inorganic and organic samples
  • Evaluate novel analytical technique to support FluoRok’s synthetic efforts
  • Manage day-to-day operation of FluoRok’s analytical suite
  • Contribute to the development of reaction and process monitoring tools
  • Prepare protocols, reports and operating procedures
  • Effectively communicate and present research findings to the wider scientific teams
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge on various analytical techniques 

Essential

  • Degree (BSc / MChem / MSc or equivalent) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or equivalents  
  • >4 years industrial experience in an analytical laboratory 
  • Hands-on experience in some of the following techniques: HPLC and IC, ICP-OES, NMR
  • Previous experience in analytical method development and validation
  • The ability to work efficiently on your own or as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills

Desirable

  • Experience in electroanalytical techniques (automatic titrations, conductivity measurements).
  • Experience in materials analysis (PXRD, SS-NMR, PSD, BET) 
  • Experience in battery electrolyte analytics 
  • Experience in handling air sensitive samples (e.g. sample preparation in glovebox) 

Pay £30,000-£42,000 per annum
