Job Description:The Teaching Assistant role at our secondary school in the Basingstoke area encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at supporting both students and teachers.

You will actively engage in the learning process by collaborating closely with teaching staff to assist in planning and delivering lessons across various subjects.

Your role will involve providing personalised support to students with SEMH needs and ASC needs, to ensure they receive the attention and guidance necessary for their academic progress.

This will include fostering an environment where every student feels supported and empowered to succeed.

Additionally, you will aid in behaviour management, and assist in tracking and assessing student progress, playing a pivotal role in the holistic development of our students within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:-          Collaborate with teachers to assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects.

-          Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.

-          Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.

-          To carry out classroom teaching along with all related preparation, assessment, recording, and reporting tasks, either in a specific subject area or across other curriculum areas.

-          Support the teacher in behaviour management and maintaining a disciplined, respectful classroom atmosphere.

Requirements:-          Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.

-          A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.

-          Experience working with challenging behaviour-          Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

-          Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.

Qualifications:-          Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

-          Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
