Purview are recruiting a highly skilled and experienced Security Architect with expertise in Akamai and Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies.

The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions to protect our clients web applications and data.

This role requires a deep understanding of security best practices, hands-on experience with Akamai and WAF configurations, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment to address evolving security threats.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Architecture and Design:

• Develop and maintain security architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Design and implement robust security solutions for web applications using Akamai and WAF technologies.
• Conduct security risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate identified risks.

Implementation and Configuration:

• Configure and manage Akamai services, including Kona Site Defender, Bot Manager, and other Akamai security products.
• Implement and manage Web Application Firewalls to protect against web-based attacks.
• Ensure optimal performance and security of web applications through proper configuration and tuning of security controls.

Monitoring and Incident Response:

• Establish and maintain monitoring and alerting mechanisms for web application security.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including coordinating with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.

Collaboration and Leadership:

• Work closely with development, operations, and IT teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Akamai and WAF technologies, providing training and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of security architectures, configurations, processes, and incident reports.
• Prepare and present security metrics and reports to management and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
• Identify opportunities for improving security posture and implement enhancements.
• Participate in security forums, conferences, and training to maintain expertise in the field.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on web application security.
• Strong expertise in Akamai products, including Kona Site Defender, Bot Manager, and other security offerings.
• Hands-on experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) such as Imperva, F5, or Cloudflare.
• In-depth understanding of security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., SSL/TLS, OWASP Top Ten, DDoS mitigation).
• Experience with security monitoring and incident response tools.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GIAC) are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud security, particularly in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

• Full-time position with occasional on-call duties for security incident response.
