Accelerate Teaching is excited to announce an excellent opportunity for an experienced Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Kirklees.

This role is integral to supporting our dedicated science department and fostering an inspiring learning environment for our students.

The successful candidate will begin in September 2024.

As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our science labs.

Your expertise will help maintain high standards of safety, organisation, and efficiency within the department.

You will work closely with teachers and students, providing essential support for practical lessons and experiments.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments.

Maintain and organise the science laboratories, ensuring they are safe and well-equipped.

Assist teachers and students during practical sessions, offering technical support and guidance.

Manage and order stock, ensuring adequate supplies are available for experiments.

Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the science department.

Provide administrative support, including maintaining accurate records and inventories.

What We Are Looking For: Experience: Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or similar setting is essential.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of scientific principles and laboratory practices.

Organisation: Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.

Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.

Proactivity: Ability to work independently and proactively manage tasks.

Safety: Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations related to science laboratories.
