Risk Manager

We’re looking for a Risk Manager to support the Senior Risk Manager in designing and delivering a comprehensive risk management programme covering all group entities. This role covers all UK and international offices, currently located in the US, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain. 

The Group operates CFC Syndicate 1988 (‘the Syndicate’) at Lloyd’s; currently out of scope for the Group risk management programme as risk management services relating to the Syndicate are provided by Asta Managing Agency Limited on an outsource basis. The role will, however, involved frequent liaison with Asta in relation to risk management activities carried out in relation to the Syndicate, including reporting and preparation of the Syndicate ORSA.

About the role

The Risk Manager will work with the senior risk manager and the broader risk team to roll-out the relevant Group risk management process and policies in line with the approved Group Risk Framework, including the delivery of appropriate training to risk and control owners, with a focus on building a risk culture across the group. Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the Compliance Director and Senior Risk Manager in the delivery of the Group Risk Plan, including all planned activities. 
  • Supporting the Senior Risk Manager in the preparation of high-quality risk reporting to both the Compliance & Risk Committee and the CFCU and Group Boards, as required and directed. 
  • Maintaining and operating risk management systems and controls and supporting policies and procedures for all Group entities.
  • Help implement, and lead on, the monitoring and reporting of the Group Risk Appetite statements and tolerance metrics.
  • Manage and maintain Group Risk Management processes, including risk and control reviews, risk appetite, key risk indicator monitoring and risk event reporting.
  • About you

    We are looking for an experienced communicator who has both excellent oral and written skills, with extensive exposure to working with a variety of stakeholders, including Executive management. 

    You will have had at least 6 years of experience within the London market, preferably a Lloyds managing agent and have strong knowledge of FCA requirements/ PRA supervisory framework, policy and Solvency II principles. 

    Professional Qualification (IRM, CII, ACCA, ACA etc) would be highly regarded, but not essential.
