This is a fantastic opportunity to join a top 100 law firm based in Wakefield. We are looking to hire a Risk & Governance Officer our Risk & Compliance Team!

What you’ll be working on:

In this role you will support the practice governance elements of the organisation, the policy framework, control assurance, systems and process assurance, and data protection. You will manage a small team, providing support and development.

Your day-to-day

  • Support the Risk and Audit Manager to ensure the risk framework is maintained and updates are received in a timely manner
  • To facilitate the data protection activities within the team, including continued awareness of data protection controls across the business, breach reporting and oversee the administration of Data Subject Access Requests
  • To support regular assessment of business controls against our compliance framework, ICO accountability / LOCS framework and close any gaps
  • Oversee the testing of controls across both the operational and policy processes to provide assurance to the Executive Team that the control framework is operating as it should and that any control weaknesses are being addressed.
  • You should apply if you:

  • have experience of providing support, education and training to staff to build awareness within an organisation
  • have good communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
