Alexander Steele Recruitment is working in partnership with a market leading manufacturer supplying food and health products to the retail market, based in Leicester. Due to a period of exciting growth, they are looking to appoint an R&D Manager to lead on developing new products for the company portfolio.

On offer:

Salary is £35k - £40k DOE
25 days holiday + bank holidays
Company pension
40 hours per week

The role:

Reporting to the Managing Director, they will manage the R&D department with ownership of R&D projects and see through to product launch.

The successful candidate is tasked with conducting onsite development trials, collaborating with other departments such as sales and marketing, and leading product briefs.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Managing new product development trials from concept to launch
Sourcing materials from suppliers with cost and quality in mind
Leading weekly R&D meetings and product briefs
Implementing processes for new R&D projects
Attending trade shows to represent the company
Delivering on NPD briefs from customers

Candidate requirements:

The business is looking for an individual with experience in a similar role in a fast paced environment within FMCG.

Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
A degree in food science or related scientific subject
Experience within an NPD/R&D role either in food & drink manufacturing or health and beauty product manufacturing
Effective at engaging with operational teams
