The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join OCL, a specialist provider within our Surfacing Solutions Division to help deliver on long term frameworks including multi million pound highways projects.

This is a critical role within our business, focusing on cost management, cost estimation, and overseeing financial aspects of construction projects. You will help to develop, lead and implement commercial targets for the Surfacing Solutions division in the pursuit of value, cost and cash management.

  • You will ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental objectives for each project

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and plans.

  • Preparing forecasts, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation

  • On-site measurement and measurement of drawings as required

  • Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control

  • On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work

  • Prepare and deliver profit and loss statements at the month end

  • Sub contract management and preparation of payments

Who You Are:

  • Youll hold (or be studying towards) a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.

  • Exceptional numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools for estimating and contract management.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.

  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, from project initiation to completion.

  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
