Quantity Surveyor in Aylesford

Are you a Quantity Surveyor eager to develop your skills beyond the pre-construction stage?

I have an exciting opportunity for you to join a large principle contractor as a Pre-Construction Quantity Surveyor.

As a Pre-Construction QS, you'll play a key role in securing projects by providing competitive tenders for architectural and civils projects.

You'll assess costs for materials, labour, plant, subcontractors, and other resources, all while meeting tight deadlines and client requirements.

About the Role:

• Assist with tenders for civils (groundworks, utilities, foundations) and fit-out projects.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for proposals and maintain a database of approved subcontractors with Procurement.
• Ensure communication between Estimating and Operations for realistic tenders.
• Support the Pre-Construction Department with pricing, variations, and alternative rates.
• Provide accurate take-offs for bills or create new measured bills as needed.
• Update the estimating team on outgoing tenders and share information in weekly meetings.
• Maintain records of pricing, quotes, and historical data for future use.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in the estimation process.

Key Requirements:

• Background: Experience in Steel Frame, Cladding, or Civil works is highly desirable.
• Skills: Proficiency in using Excel for comparison sheets, particularly in subcontractor procurement.
• Experience: Familiarity with constant subcontractor analysis and comparison is essential.
• Development: Willingness to develop skills beyond the pre-construction stage.
