Insight Investment is looking for a Quantitative Developer to join the Fixed Income Group (FIG) in London.

This front-office role will sit in a small team of quants that forms part of the FIG investment team.

The successful candidate will work closely with (i) the quant researchers to develop new tooling and insights, and (ii) teams in central tech to ensure a fit-for-purpose platform.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy to production and maintain quant applications which provide insights to portfolio managers and credit analysts. This will involve working with IT to configure CI/CD pipelines, artifactory, and control-M jobs
  • Create a UI interface for our FIG quant strategy platform
  • Create ML model storage solution for our next-gen quantitative models
  • Create team efficiencies by creating and maintaining SDKs to solve common challenges within the quant estate
  • Work closely with IT teams (in particular, core data services, architecture, cyber security, and support) to improve the architecture, and ensure best practice
  • Improve the observability and stability of existing quant applications. Existing quant applications detect market dislocations, monitor markets for trading opportunities, provide input in portfolio construction, and form a basis for systematic backtesting. Timeliness and robustness is key
  • Oversee the migration of scheduled workloads to on-prem servers and own the smooth-running of these deployments
  • Lead code review / PR to ensure design and programming best practice

Experience Required

  • Python coding experience, being able to write performant and OO code, with appropriate architectural considerations and good test-coverage. Demonstrating knowledge of fundamental computing concepts such as threads, memory management, compiling, locking, APIs, etc. with experience writing production-grade code for a collaborative project
  • Experience with relational databases, writing performant queries in SQL-based languages
  • The ability to identify bottlenecks in delivering quant applications and be comfortable working with stakeholders (including senior stakeholders) across teams and departments to deliver a suitable solution
  • Able to communicate complex concepts accurately and succinctly; verbally, visually, and in written form
  • KPI-focused and looking to add value from their first day, and to measure their success
  • Showing a genuine interest in fixed income markets, demonstrating some reading around bonds, and showing keenness to apply their technical acumen to deliver immediate business value. Ideally the candidate will have some experience working in financial services
