T2M Resourcing are working exclusively on recruiting a Purchasing Manager with a growing automotive and aerospace business that develops and builds it’s own cutting edge products.
As Purchasing Manager, you would have responsibility for all direct spend in engineering and production departments as well as leading the team and setting the procurement strategy.
Key duties of a Purchasing Manager:
- Lead and develop a team of Purchasers and Commodity Buyers.
- Define procurement strategy in line with company goals.
- Develop a scalable purchasing process and framework.
- Set purchasing team targets and change agenda.
- Negotiation and management of key suppliers in the UK and abroad.
- Procurement budget management and reporting to senior leadership teams.
- Champion the utilisation of ERP and MRP systems.
Requirements to be successful as a Purchasing Manager:
- CIPS or MCIPS certificate or similar memberships.
- Degree level qualification in relevant are a such as business, finance or supply chain management.
- Experience in leading purchasing/supply chain teams.
- Confident communicator and presenter.
- Strong negotiator, able to achieve cost and lead time reductions.
- Understanding of the automotive and aerospace sectors.
- Exposure to on-shore and off-shore suppliers.
- Knowledge of low-mid volume production supply chain requirements.
- IT and software skills – ERP and MRP systems.
This role will be on-site in Milton Keynes, but will also require travel in the UK therefore a UK Driving License is essential for the role.
