Aboutyou

To be successful in the roleyou will need to demonstrate the following capabilities andexperience:

  • Degree level or equivalentacademic qualification in Ecology or relatedfield;
  • Membership of Chartered Institute ofEcology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or othersimilar.
  • Specialist knowledge in protectedspecies (ideally including bats and great crested newt) and a classlicence for one or more protectedspecies.
  • Experience and understanding of thecurrent European Protected Species Licencing (EPSL) Low ImpactClass Licence (LICL) and District Level Licensingsystems.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevantecological experience with a welldeveloped report writingskills.
  • Good knowledge of best practice surveytechniques and relevant wildlifelegislation.
  • Comfortable providing PreliminaryEcological Appraisal and specific speciesreports;
  • A level of competency in MicrosoftOffice software and preferably (although not essential) someknowledge of GIS packages; and
  • A full clean UKdriving licence and access to avehicle.
