  • To enable our planned growth in the energy and utilities sector, we are looking to grow our transmission and distribution consultancy team.

    Our portfolio of work involves managing and delivering complex projects and programmes across our client base of strategic clients across gas and electricity.

    The project advisor role is an opportunity to be a part of our expansion and help us deliver distinctive value for our clients - by managing and delivering key projects and programmes on behalf of our clients. 

    You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing programme, budget and risks throughout the project lifecycle

  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and standards, and CDM regulations

  • Providing regular updates against all aspects of project performance, chair monthly progress meetings and attend site meetings as required.

  • Project development during the early phases of the project lifecycle, including optioneering and consenting.

  • Design stage management including deliverability, programme and safety performance reviews.

  • Working with key stakeholders to support the tendering process, including developing contract strategies.

  • Management of project delivery, commissioning and closure, and any post completion tasks.

  • Act as the key interface between the project and both internal and external teams, contractors and stakeholders, maintaining and developing relationships.

  • Manage complex third-party issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations and community stakeholders.

  • You’ll need to have:

  • Degree qualified with a minimum of five years’ relevant regulated industry experience OR HNC /HND qualified with a minimum of seven years’ relevant regulated industry experience.

  • Member of a relevant professional institute.

  • Recognised training or qualifications in health, safety, environmental (e.g. NEBOSH, SMSTS or IOSH).

  • Experience in people management, including leading others, coaching and supporting others to reach their full potential.

  • Experience in influencing others towards a project’s desired course of action.

  • Curiosity and are keen to explore innovative approaches to challenges.

  • Experience in clearly presenting information or proposals to clients and contractors.

  • Experience in managing large or complex projects.

  • Understanding relevant health, safety and environmental management systems and requirements.

  • Ability to understand technical documentation relevant to the electricity and/or gas industries.

  • Experience in contract management (preferably NEC3 or NEC4).

  • Knowledge of schedule and cost risk management processes.

  • Knowledge of project handover records.

  • Experienced in formal safety assessments (HAZID, HAZOP, HAZCON).

  • Understanding of procurement associated with complex projects.
