Next-Generation Nuclear Power Design

Holtec has received funding from the FNEF to advance its SMR programme and is building its brand new team based in Bristol.

The project portfolio includes Holtec’s project lines, including spent fuel and waste management, Small Modular Reactor, decommissioning, heat transfer equipment, and energy storage systems.

Many of Holtec Britain’s projects involve product development, nuclear licensing, fabrication, and site services activities.

The Holtec Britain Programme Manager has direct oversight responsibilities for the project safety, quality, budget, and schedule, using in-house earned value management tools, Primavera scheduling, and other in-house software for task management.

The Programme Manager has responsibility for hiring, training, motivating, and leading the project team members, ensuring a positive work environment and successful project outcomes.


Minimum Responsibilities :

  • Provide oversight of the established Project Management Team to execute the project portfolio in accordance with prescribed scope and specification.
  • Establish and enforce PM team performance standards and ensure project compliance with company policy and procedures, with early intervention as required to maintain project objectives.
  • Assist and potentially lead in negotiation of contractual disputes escalated beyond the PM Team.
  • Prepare and present overview of project status to executive management team on key performance metrics including cost and schedule adherence.
  • Interface with customer leadership teams and support periodic external management review meetings.
  • Provide support to Holtec’s sales team throughout the proposal process, providing planning and execution insight pertaining to operations and scheduling.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients to understand perspectives for areas of improvement and identify additional opportunities for business growth.
  • Assist in recruitment and training of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Prepare and deliver budgetary forecasts and participate in annual project financial audits.
  • Support review of contracts with Holtec’s legal team and add value with regards to risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide additional sales support in identifying and capturing new business.
  • Assist the Software Development Team in developing new tools to better improve the efficiency of Project Management processes and general execution.


Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in project management, project controls, or project engineering
  • Previous experience in the energy industry, preferably in the nuclear industry
  • Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated increasing responsibilities across relevant work history
  • Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810
