Job Title: Production Assistant

Location: Peregrine HQ, Bristol, UK

Job Type: Full-Time - Permanent, Start Date - September 2024

About Us:

We’re Peregrine, the British clothing brand keeping manufacturing miles to a minimum.

Since 1796, we’ve been crafting hard-working staples you can rely on, season after season.

We’ve been in the business for over 220 years — so, in some ways, this makes us pretty traditional.

However, it’s safe to say that our past is shaping our future — not dictating it.

Even now, we’re still working with wool that’s reared and sheared just a few miles from our factory.

And each and every Peregrine garment is designed and the majority manufactured right here in the UK.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Assistant to join our production team.

Reporting to the Head of Product, the Production Assistant will play a critical support role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

This entry-level position involves working closely with the Head of Product and the wider team on administrative tasks, coordinating production schedules, and assisting in daily communication with all suppliers.

This role is based at our Bristol office Monday to Friday.

Why Join Us?

At Peregrine Clothing, you will be part of a dedicated team that values efficiency, quality and innovation.

As a Production Assistant, you will play a key role in enhancing our production processes, reducing lead times and ensuring our operations run smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the fashion manufacturing industry and contribute to our continued success.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Entry Level Applicant: Recent graduate eager to launch their career in fashion manufacturing.
  • Proactive Learner: Quick to grasp new concepts and take initiative.
  • Adaptable Team Player: Thrives in a fast-paced, small team setting, with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Effective Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for liaising with suppliers and team members.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organised: Capable of managing multiple priorities and ensuring accuracy in production documentation and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

Production

  • Assist in scheduling and tracking production activities, particularly during peak seasons.
  • Raise P.O.s with factories, working closely with the Head of Product on seasonal requirements.
  • Assist in ordering garment components such as trims, barcodes, and bulk raw materials, ensuring efficiencies within the critical path.
  • Ensure all product information is accurately and timely updated in Airtable (PIM), including all required information for overseas shipments.
  • Liaise with suppliers for the timely delivery of materials, manage ad-hoc requests, and chase suppliers for ex-factory dates.

Operational

  • Monitor ex-factory dates and support with deliveries into the warehouse via ASN in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with factories on how and where to ship goods cost-effectively and timely, following up if goods are short-shipped.
  • Ensure the production tracker is up to date and communicate with the wholesale manager and ecommerce team regarding the status of goods and delivery updates.
  • Provide general administrative support to the product team, including organising ad hoc deliveries, reporting, and communication tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and a willingness to learn production management / warehouse software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • An interest and understanding of the fashion and manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment would be a plus but not required.
