Our product team is small but effective... responsible for the inception, creation and engagement of our solutions across Data, Market and Trader products.


The role

Our new Product Manager will be responsible for product discovery. They will engage with prospects and customers to deeply understand the problems they are looking to solve and they will become the expert on how clients use the product. They will use client feedback, metrics and research to identify and prioritise opportunities for delivering enhancements and new product ideas.

Based on the wider product strategy and input from commercial and technical teams, the Product Manager will propose new initiatives to grow the value proposition of their products and to make meaningful progress towards our longer-term business objectives.

They will play a crucial part in product delivery, fulfiling the product owner role within one or more agile delivery teams, creating a shared understanding of client needs. They will define the priorities and clear acceptance criteria for designing and implementing new features and improvements. They will be responsible for prioritisation and will strive to find the right balance between maintenance and advancing the product roadmap.

The Product Manager will motivate technical teams by being the voice of the customer. They will share client insights, needs, frustrations, successes and failures with the team to inspire a culture of creative problem solving. They will hold themselves and the team accountable for delivering client value and will use excellent communication skills to ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept up-to-date throughout product delivery.

What you'll be doing...

  • The Product Manager is expected to build client relationships to facilitate idea generation and be the expert on how the clients use the system, understand their requirements and become the voice of the customer internally.

  • The Product Manager should spend time with clients and internal sales and support teams, providing assistance, engagement and gaining understanding of the products.

  • Establish strong cross functional relationships (e.g., Support, Development, QA, Client Management); regularly engage across functions to leverage areas knowledge, facilitate information sharing, and accelerate product delivery.

  • Develop high level Epic stories and break those down into detailed user stories. During development of new functionality the PO will work closely with multiple teams, to break down stories and develop acceptance tests to ensure client requirements are successfully captured and implemented.

  • PMs are expected to become specialists and an authoritative source for the rest of the business for the understanding of client workflows. Special emphasis will be placed on effective documentation, dissemination and sharing of this knowledge across the Product team and the rest of the company.

  • Become an expert on the usage of Trayport’s products/network in ‘the wild’ and provide a bridge between customers and Trayport engineering teams regarding workflows, requirements and platform functionality, for existing and components/features in development.

  • Run demos of new and existing functionality, internally and externally, participate in customer facing calls and meetings to gather requirements and present prototypes.
