We are currently seeking a motivated and qualified Procurement Officer to join our client based in Southampton.

As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes, contributing to the success and growth of the company.

What will you be doing?

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and requirements.
  • Source suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products, and evaluate their suitability for the organisation.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels, and maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
  • Analyze procurement data and trends to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle any procurement-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • 2-3 years of proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role, preferably in the automation or technology industry (not essential).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and relevant regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
