Exciting Opportunity for a Procurement Manager (public sector) in Manchester

Our client, a public sector organisation in Manchester, is seeking a talented and motivated Procurement Manager to join their team. As the Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the organisation obtains value for money from its contracts and operates in line with the Procurement Act .

This role is initially a 3 year FTC with potential for extension.

Salary up to £46, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

Lead and deliver a wide range of procurement projects, including tenders and framework call-offs, while aligning with the Procurement Act .

Actively contribute to the implementation and guidance of changes mandated by the Procurement Act .

Ensure that all procurement processes are efficient, legally compliant, and deliver value for money.

Provide training to staff on procurement policies and any changes

Foster strong relationships with colleagues involved in the procurement process and promote best practises.

Serve as a point of contact for the escalation and resolution of procurement issues.

Ensure compliance with transparency requirements throughout the procurement process.

Support the updating/replacement of the procurement system.

Qualifications:

In depth knowledge of procurement legislation and regulations

Previous experience managing procurement processes within the public sector

Either MCIPS qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.

Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills, coupled with the ability to establish credibility.

Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive working relationships.

Flexible approach with excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.

Involvement in continuous improvement projects, including process redesign and change management and implementing new ERP systems
