The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join the procurement team.

The role will focus on managing a range of Indirect spend categories (IT, HR, FM, Marketing, Engineering), delivering sustainable value to Hovis. This will role will have a core focus on supplier rationalisation, implementing group contracts to leverage scale and provide best value to our 8 bakeries.

You will also support and manage ongoing supplier performance, gathering market intelligence & insight to drive continuous improvement across the indirect categories.

Working with the Procurement and central support teams, some of the key accountabilities include;

  • Development of dynamic, value-driven sourcing strategies that deliver targeted results and provide the business with the appropriate products, services and advice that it needs to execute its strategy.
  • Understanding and analysing the supply market. Utilising a wide range of sourcing tools/ techniques to effectively analyse the suppliers they work with.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of the wider supply marketplace.
  • Creating business-based sourcing strategies. Works with colleagues to develop category sourcing strategies using key elements of the category management process.
  • Effective planning & execution of negotiations and translation into robust contracts, driving supplier performance to deliver the business needs
  • Negotiation, planning & execution. Uses appropriate methods to prepare for and carry out negotiations. Develops the knowledge of tools/ techniques so that they can lead more complex future negotiations.
  • Effective delivery of strategic value through the focused management of complex, cross-functional change, projects and programmes

Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities

  • 5+ years of Procurement experience / Category Management in similar roles
  • Experience leading indirect procurement categories
  • Experience in contract negotiation/implementation
  • Demonstrable negotiation experience
  • Project management experience
  • Good understanding of commercial contract law and building contracts alongside Legal

Desirable

  • Experience of handling multiple categories & multiple sites
  • FMCG/ Engineering/FM experience
  • Experience in managing contingent labour heavy categories
  • Currency / FX
  • Degree or equivalent
  • CIPS qualified
