We have a current requirement for a Planning Managerto join our Engineered Solutions business streambased in Glasgow on a permanent basis.

The Planning Manager is a key member of our project management team.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the successful planning, monitoring, and control of delivery activities.

The Planning Manager will collaborate with all stakeholders, and team members to facilitate effective job planning, resource allocation, and performance tracking.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ES Delivery Managers, project managers and stakeholders to develop comprehensive job plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Create detailed job plans to determine tasks, timelines and dependencies.
  • Develop and maintain job schedules using management software.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure job success.
  • Assist in the development of job budgets and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with Delivery Managers to allocate and optimize resources for tasks.
  • Monitor resource utilization.
  • Ensure that resource allocation aligns with priorities and timelines.
  • Maintain job performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Track job progress against budget.
  • Prepare status reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Highlight deviations from the job plans and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes related to job planning.
  • Ensure compliance standards and best practices are adhered to.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including job plans and schedules.
  • Manage and develop job documentation packages.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among ES team members.
  • Act as a liaison between team members, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with ES goals.
  • Stay current with industry best practices in job management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of job management practices within the organization.

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a Planning management type role or have experience as a senior planner looking to take that next step.

A full UKdrivers license is essential for this role.
