Due to our expansion as a department, a new and exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Pharmacy Administrator to join the expanding team of staff, pharmacists, technicians, ATOs and assistants delivering a comprehensive pharmaceutical service to the patients of South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation trust.

The post holder will participate in the comprehensive and effective administrative service to support the smooth and efficient running of the department.

In house training will be provided.

As an administrator you will be trained in the full range of our office procedures. You will be required to have a qualification of Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard or equivalent. You will enjoy using a computer, meeting with and helping others and have a desire to provide a high standard of customer service. You must be able to prioritise your own work to meet deadlines, have the ability to follow instructions and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be confident, have a mature and flexible approach, be a good time keeper and have the ability to work unsupervised to ensure the effective coordination of duties. 

Main duties of the job

In return we will ensure that you receive all the training you need to be able to do this role fully and competently. You will receive between 27 and 33 days annual leave and be entitled to a range of discounts on services and products from a number of retailers and organisations in the local area.

  • Maintain departmental databases such as Annual Leave, Sickness, Overtime and Lieu time and Mandatory and Professional Training Information.
  • Responsible for management and maintenance of staff confidential & personal files.
  • Participate in diary management, booking meetings and venues as per department & Senior Management requests, communicating with organisation and participants.
  • Produce agendas and attend meetings to take minutes and identify key action points from the meetings.
  • Participate in weekly pharmacy team briefings and keep up to date with all relevant communications within the department via email.
  • Support the implementation of policy and strategy in own work area.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, use initiative and seek advice where necessary

    Leadership and Improvement Training

    South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
