Job Description

TPF Recruitment. Kent’s leading accountancy practice recruitment agency is supporting a successful firm of accountants based in Maidstone who is looking for a Payroll Manager to join their team. The practice provides a holistic accounting service to their clients across accounts, tax payroll, bookkeeping, CIS and VAT and services clients of all sizes across a range of sectors including manufacturing, professional services, marketing, sales, healthcare, startups ect. 

This is a pivotal Payroll Manager position where you will report into the Partners and look after your own portfolio of 180 payrolls, ranging from Director only to small ltd companies.

There is also scope to get involved in other areas of the practice too, should you wish, such as bookkeeping, vat etc. This practice promotes a fantastic work life balance and hybrid working, 2 days a week from home.

  • Manage multiple payrolls for a diverse client portfolio. 
  • Support the team with processes relevant to payroll, including starters and leavers. 
  • Ensure accurate information is obtained from clients to validate payroll data.
  • Assist with maintaining pension records, including processing payroll payments and statutory reductions.
  • Complete year-end processes and submissions.
  • Managing queries related to tax, benefits, salary, allowances.
  • Act as a mentor to junior members of the team.
  • Support the Partners with networking and business development opportunities.



Requirements
  • The ideal candidate for the positions will have either bureau or accountancy practice payroll experience.
  • Be CIPP qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Have experience in dealing with a mix of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Be hard-working and up for a challenge in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Have good software and technical payroll knowledge.

  • £34,000 - £39,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.

Requirements This position will sit within a very experienced and large payroll team so you will be surrounded by fantastic support. Experience with practice/ bureau payroll software. You will be a technically proficient Payroll Administrator who has a minimum of 2 years or more experience in Payroll. You must have accountancy practice experience or payroll bureau experience.
