The Opportunity

Based within Arup’s Finance team, our Payroll Service Centre is accountable for the end-to-end processing of the monthly payroll for ARUP staff. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Administrator to boost with these activities, reporting directly to the Payroll Deputy Team Leader. 

This is a broad and varied role with lots of opportunity to become involved in a wide range of activities.

The role holder will have exposure to some aspects of international payroll processing and will have the opportunity to participate in some dedicated project groups focussing on various topics, not just day-to-day payroll activity.

Your contribution to this role will involve providing crucial support in a variety of payroll processing activities.

This includes managing starters and leavers, processing one-off payments, handling season ticket and bicycle loans, verifying payroll changes, uploading tax information, managing sickness and statutory absence, including maternity and shared parental leave, participating in international payroll processing, overseeing reporting and reconciliations, conducting payroll reconciliations and data cleansing, generating various reports, managing third-party payments, and assisting with correspondence and customer service.

Additionally, you will handle ad-hoc tasks as they arise.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:

  • Can demonstrate strong payroll processing knowledge.
  • Can work with an exceptionally high level of accuracy and to tight timescales. 
  • Have an awareness or experience of working in a Shared Service Centre environment. 
  • Can demonstrate an appreciation of payroll legislation and processes. 
  • Have the ability to create and review procedures and possess process improvement experience.
