Job Summary
The Operational Excellence (OE) Specialist supports the domestic Small Package function to ensure it meets and exceeds customer service and quality objectives. He/She assists with the development, assessment, and alignment of service goals with company objectives. This position also supports the implementation of training activities and provides operational support.

Supports tactical planning

•Follows best practices to ensure consistent high quality Small Package customer service.

•Develops monthly performance goals to track and evaluate service objectives.

•Analyses performance metrics to ensure service processes and procedures support business objectives.

•Gathers performance trend data for senior management to determine improvement areas and raise expectations where appropriate.

•Assists in the development of the Small Package and Engineering operations balanced scorecard elements to align with corporate strategies.

Provides Operational Excellence Training

•Provides support for Quality Improvement Process training to ensure training activities support department and business objectives.

•Serves as a training assistant to support Small Package operational performance.

Provides O.E. Operations Support

•Maintains and updates Operational Excellence databases to ensure the availability of Small Package best practices and service trends for department personnel.

•Develops weekly service reports to inform senior management of Small Package service levels.

•Conducts service trend analyses to determine the best service improvement strategies.

•Prepares Industrial Engineering staff meeting reports to ensure timely documentation.

•Assists the development of Business Quality Assessment audits to measure customer service performance.



Responsibilities:

  • Gathers and analyzes data necessary to develop work measurement.

  • Maintains data within operating plans to highlight conditions and areas for potential change.

  • Verifies the proper application of work measurement to ensure accuracy.

  • Conducts audits to identify areas and processes not in compliance with standards.

  • Discusses and records non-compliant exceptions.

  • Develops action plans and obtains management corrective action commitments.

  • Assesses the impact of long and short range forecasts on operating plans.

  • Responds to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests and utilizes various programs to compile statistical reports.

  • Maintains forecasts, operating plans, and tracking spreadsheets for future reference.

  • Develops annual staffing projections based on trends.


  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent - Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Engineering or related field - Preferred

  • Understanding of operational barriers and failures, and identifies/improves designs, methods, processes, and flows through collaboration

  • Technical minded with ability to resolve issues related to information systems reporting, report generation and storage, customized reports, and data integration, and writes complex queries and creates databases as needed

  • Industrial Engineering experience - Preferred

  • Experience using advanced Access and Excel functionalities, (Pivot tables, V-look ups, database creation/maintenance, etc.) - Preferred

  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, including weekends and travel - Preferred
