We are looking for someone with substantial commercial experience and as a .

Net Software Developer with us, you will be responsible for developing and supporting in house insurance applications as well as analyse, develop and test all applications using the appropriate processes, methods and standards.

What you will do

• Undertake analysis, design, programming and testing for the development of new systems and provide support for, and enhancements to, existing systems.
• Produce technical documentation to support the development of new systems.
• Develop relationships with business users to aid full understanding of business requirements and make recommendations as and when required to improve systems.
• Produce accurate estimates and monitor progress against established project milestones and provide regular updates to management on the progress of work.
• Proactively identify and mitigate against project risks.
• Liaise with the Support Desk and the larger team to ensure priorities are being correctly addressed.
• Work through all aspects of the development lifecycle as well as contribute to and implement improvements to best practices, high quality design and development of software.

Important experience and skills you will need

• Experience working in a professional software development environment.
• Technically proficient in the following skill sets:
• MS Visual Studio
• C#
• ASP.NET MVC
• JavaScript / HTML /XML / CSS
• .Net Core
• .Net framework
• Entity Framework
• Azure Portal Back End Administration
• MS SQL Server development, TSQL/Stored Procedures
• TDD
• Demonstrate a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Flexible and able to absorb new information or change in plans in a rapidly changing environment.
• Source Control Practices using source control tools, e.g. TFS/DevOps
• Have an understanding of the principles of software architecture and patterns.

And if you have these additional skills, that would be a bonus

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
• Knowledge of design and software development methodologies.
• Knowledge/Experience of:
• SSIS/SSRS
• Reporting services
• Web Services/Web API
• Angular
• JSON
• WCF
• IIS
• Unit testing frameworks
• DevOps deployments
• Code quality tools e.g. SonarQube
