Mechanical Design Engineer - MC(phone number removed)Mechanical Design Engineer required based in Laindon, Essex in a purpose-built design, engineering and headquarters building with 70 employees at this site.The majority of our business is the design and assembly of filling and packaging lines foraerosols, specialising in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.All mechanical design activities are completed on-site, which includes: -- Layout design- Enclosure design- Conveyor design- Ductwork design- General mechanical design (sensor bracketry/equipment mounting, etc.)We are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to produce mechanicaldesign/drawings for our mechanical systems and equipment to work within a small team ofmechanical design engineers overseen by the Drawing office managerMechanical Design Engineer Position OverviewGenerating manufacturing drawings and equipment layouts, with supporting mechanicaldocumentation (schedules, (bill of materials), sub-assembly drawings, schematics, etc.)Maintaining existing mechanical drawings and documentation when existing equipment isupgraded or modified.Act as a liaison between the drawing office and Mechanical Technicians/sub-suppliers,and work with other departments as necessary to ensure the correct parts areordered/supplied for assembly.Liaise with the Drawing Office Manager for the workload to ensure project timelines areadhered to and any deviation is communicated to the project team.Ensure all mechanical drawings are updated in a timely manner throughout the lifecycle ofthe project and shared with all relevant departments, along with maintaining current correctrevisions in the data-management system (Autodesk Vault)Assist, where required, with other tasks within the Drawing Office Department, such asenquiry drawings, site surveys, etc.Mechanical Design Engineer Position RequirementsWorking knowledge in an industrial/design environment of Autodesk products, includingAutoCAD (2D), Inventor (3D), Autodesk Vault (User only), although other 3D CADsoftware knowledge may be considered, such as SolidWorks etc.- Experience in drafting standards for BS 8888- Mechanical design experience in a working environment in an industrial design role- Recognised engineering certification/apprenticeship- Good understanding of engineering techniques, including machining, sheet metal,fabrication- Able to interpret equipment assembly drawings and maintain the high-quality finish andoutput levels expected by our customers- Able to operate within the requirements of good health and safety discipline- Able to adhere to the requirements of current industry-recognised engineering designstandardsDesirable- Familiarity with Automated production machinery or other similar equipment- Experience in a project environment across a multi-functional project team- Understanding of conveyor design- Understanding of airflow and ductwork design and calculations- Understanding of ATEX standards requirements- Understanding of safety standards requirements for the design of equipmentMechanical Design Engineer Position RemunerationTraining provided when neededSalary dependent on experience £30k-£40kThe successful applicant will also be eligible for a pension scheme and other generousBennett & Game Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy.Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
