The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lettings Officer to join our Housing Operations department.

We own 34,000 quality homes for affordable rent across the region, and one of our keys to success is ensuring that these homes are lived in and loved for the maximum time possible, by achieving re-let times that are amongst the best in the housing sector.

Please note, we are recruiting for two temporary positions for this role - we have both an 8-month contract and a 6-month contract available.

As a Lettings Officer, you could play a key part in achieving this by:

  • Coordinating and administering the process for re-letting of empty properties so that homes are empty for the shortest period possible.
  • Allocating properties in line with Midland Heart standards, policies and procedures; ensuring support needs are identified to help sustain tenancies and working with Asset Management to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Minimising void loss by working with maintenance to ensure customers move in as soon as the property is ready to let, in accordance with the void standard.
  • Our ideal candidate?

  • You’ll demonstrate previous experience in a customer facing role, either dealing with customers face to face or over the phone.
  • You’ll demonstrate experience of handling and resolving customer complaints.
  • You’ll demonstrate the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external customers,
  • You’ll demonstrate the ability to achieve targets within tight timeframes – we set ourselves tight targets for re-let times and out tenants expect a prompt and efficient service!
  • Who are Midland Heart?

We’re a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people an affordable place to call home.

We welcome people from every walk of life, at every stage of their career.

We expect a lot from our people but in return you can be assured of a great place to work, where you will be well rewarded and where great people are able to succeed.

Whether you want to build your career with us, or use your experience to move on, we’re here to develop your potential.
