Legal Counsel - Financial Services in Bristol

Your new role

Our client is recruiting for a commercial In-House Solicitor to join their Legal Team in Bristol, reporting directly into the Senior Legal Counsel. You will be providing services and support to the companies within the Group and will work in collaboration with the other departments on contracts, due diligence and project work. They operate a hybrid working model, with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.

This is a great opportunity if you are looking for your first in house role, or if you are already in house and looking for a new challenge.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have commercial contracts knowledge, drafting and negotiation skills and a demonstrable ability to provide legal advice in an appropriate and timely manner. You will be a solicitor with circa 2-5 years PQE and will have trained in either an in-house environment or a recognised commercial law firm.

You will have:

* Commercial contracts knowledge, drafting and negotiation skills.
* Strong technical knowledge.
* Good commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
* An understanding of the effects of key regulatory issues on contractual terms.
* Ability to make commercial decisions quickly and confidently.
* Experience within Financial Services or another regulated sector is desirable but not essential.
* Experience in employment law, data protection and intellectual property law is beneficial but not essential.
