Job DescriptionA hands-on role to test, document and report on the hygienic performance and validation of the Costa X machine portfolio:· Support development teams in testing and validating new concepts with regards to Food safety Supporting new methodologies and procedures to evaluate for Food hygiene aspects, document and qualify new technologies in each of our equipment categories - concessions, Pods, countertops and autonomous machines· Conducting Tests on the latest coffee equipment and protypes to ensure they meet the highest standards for the coffee industry - legal hygiene compliance.· Contributing to the workshop/lab facility; ensuring it is optimised to enable a clean, safe, and efficient testing environment.· Conducting agreed Microbiological sampling and testing protocols on relevant Costa X equipment Ensuring the machines are set up for testing & cleaned as per scheduled guidelines.· Collating samples to send to third party laboratories for analysis as required.· Following aseptic and hygienic practices at all times when performing testing and sampling· Documenting test plans and protocols· Documenting machine behaviour and reporting on performance when applicable· Maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the Product Development laboratory area to ensure a safe working environment for all users.· Escalating any Health and Safety concerns, as appropriate· Considering the environmental impact of the laboratory area· Relevant, accurate test methods and results captured.· All test protocols completed to plan and on time.· Implementation of changes applied in the field.· Efficiently organised and run LaboratoryMain stakeholders include:· External: Existing and potential suppliers of Costa-X machines and their sub suppliers, Costa Coffee Markets and Coca-Cola Bottlers· Internal: Global Technical, UK Operations, Product Development teamsEssential Skills/QualificationsExperience in a Food or University QC testing laboratory or food production environment· Champions Costa's values of passion, trust, warmth, and courage· Focuses on driving results with pace and striving for highest quality in everything they do.· Use of Microsoft Office Suite· Planning & organisation· Effective communication· Educated to A-Level standard in science related subject or proven experience in a Food production or QC Laboratory testing environment.Guidant Global (BH4SF) is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
