Teaching Assistant – KS4

A unique and growing Additional Needs Base in North Cardiff is looking to take on a new Teaching Assistant to support their anxious and vulnerable learners.

This role will be a full-time position (Monday to Friday) with an initial 1-year contract from September 2024 to July 2025.

The Base are open to offering permanent school contracts following this period.

The successful Teaching Assistant will work within the KS4 (14 – 16) provision, supporting several learners who struggle with engagement and confidence in the school environment.

The staff within the provision provide a tailored mix of supported learning, emotional support and intervention sessions to encourage a positive learning experience.

Students using the base have a wide range of interests which are used to aid learning, from online gaming to music and animal care to various sports, so the ability to get involved in these (or even having a unique hobby that you could bring to the role yourself) would be a huge benefit.  

This is a varied and rewarding role, joining an experienced and friendly team of staff who work exclusively within the ALN Base environment.

The team are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is motivated, compassionate and kind, preferably with a degree (in any subject).

No previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is required, but an interest in Additional Needs support is essential.

Requirements:

-          Enhanced Child Only DBS, on the update service

-          EWC Registration as a Learning Support Worker

-          Completed Level 2 Safeguarding Course (provided by Teaching Personnel)

-          Interest in Additional Learning Needs Support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.

07% statutory holiday pay.
