We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated KS3 Teaching Assistant.

As an KS3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with autism to achieve their educational and developmental goals.

You will work closely with experienced SEN staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

An OUTSTANDING SEN School in Birkenhead, Wirral is looking for a dedicated and passionate KS3 Teaching Assistant to help support young people with autism aged in Key stage 3 whom may have additional learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge.

As an KS3 Teaching Assistant, you willProvide one-on-one support to students with autism to help them access the curriculum and engage in classroom activities.

Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, tailoring activities and interventions to their specific needs.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere by promoting understanding and acceptance among students.

Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement effective strategies for managing challenging behaviours.

Assist in planning and organising sensory-friendly activities and sensory breaks.

Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations and insights with the teaching team and parents/guardians.

As an KS3 Teaching Assistant, you will have:Experience working with children with autism or in a similar SEN setting is highly desirable.

Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and familiarity with evidence-based interventions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
