IT Delivery Director - Hybrid 2 days Manchester

As the IT Delivery Director, you'll be the catalyst for a transformation of our delivery department, helping us to provide a best-in-class service, effective change and continuous improvement. You will be pivotal in shaping our strategy, defining our best practices, and determining how we deliver innovative projects with a wide range of delivery types. These will span broad topics such as implementing a new portering system at major hospital clients, developing our ERP and other global platform tools, and delivering our Move to Cloud portfolio.

The new global Tech, Data &Digital strategy has just been launched, so this is a fantastic time to join our senior leadership team and support us in becoming a truly tech-enabled organisation, enabling business growth through the successful achievement of our objectives for our internal IT team as well as the wider organisation. This role is hybrid Manchester with occasional travel to London.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage, grow and develop teams across Governance, Demand, Programme & Project Management and Business Relationship Management
  • Transform this function by defining and implementing best practices and methodologies to ensure high quality, cost-effective delivery
  • Own project and change delivery, developing relationships with IT and business stakeholders to truly understand and ensure delivery of varied projects
  • Identify and shape current and future needs for resources and skills, developing our internal capabilities and building future-proof career paths for colleagues in your teams
  • Maintain tight budget planning and financial control over the programme portfolio and other functions, making innovative recommendations to reduce costs whilst improving the services provided
  • Enable the continued growth of the business by supporting on major bid processes and mobilisation projects to deliver to new clients

What you bring:

  • Proven experience building capabilities and optimising Demand and PPM functions, including defining and improving standards and processes
  • Experience delivering successful transformations of Delivery or PPM teams to increase maturity when working across a complex, matrix structured organisation
  • The ability to support high-value bids and major mobilisations across multiple sectors
  • Clear leadership experience working at Director or C suite level, with fantastic stakeholder management skills to liaise with business leaders internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of IT projects and programmes, with professional accreditations or chartered status with a recognised body such as APM
  • Experience managing large budgets and negotiating £multi-million contracts with outsourced suppliers
  • The ability to achieve UK SC clearance
