What you’ll do

We are seeking an internal communications officer to join our team and be responsible for supporting the Head of Internal Communication in the design and delivery of the internal communication engagement framework.

This role will actively support the delivery of internal communication activity through a range of internal communications channels and optimise these to best impact.

The post holder will also provide internal comms support and advice for all areas of the organisation.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced comms officer who can demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills, with an eye for detail.

You excel at quickly building strong relationships with internal stakeholders acting as advisor and guide, coming up with new ideas and approaches to ensure content gets to the right audience with the impact needed to drive us forward.

You should be able to oversee a range of communications initiatives that help build employee engagement guided by our common purpose, vision, values and ways of working.

Key responsibilities

  • Work effectively with the Head of Internal Communications and Group People Officer in ensuring all internal communication activity supports the delivery of the three-year Group people plan.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and deliver internal campaigns from content creation to design and measurement.
  • Accountability for supporting internal communication activity related to a number of strategic initiatives including a brand refresh and centenary activation.
  • Support the execution and communication of employee engagement surveys
  • Draft communications and oversee their publication, including email bulletins, colleague presentations and the intranet.
  • Develop and manage a calendar or events and promotional activities.
  • Actively seek out news stories and case studies to reinforce the narrative around CAF’s purpose.
  • Support the maintenance of appropriate tracking and reporting for all internal communication activity to measure overall effectiveness.
  • Support various projects from change initiatives to recognition schemes by delivering clear and engaging internal comms campaigns.
  • Work effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external where required, providing advice and guidance on communications planning, messaging and delivery.
  • Work in an adaptable and flexible way in line with the needs of the team and the organisation’s activity.

 

Key competencies and experience

 

  • Exemplary writing skills to get to the heart of the story
  • Proven background in communications with experience in supporting the development of

campaigns

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint and Viva Engage
  • Excellent timeline and deadline management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
