An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Audit Apprentice working in the Finance and Corporate Resources Team. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to train as an Internal Auditor by following a structured training programme covering a broad range of statutory and corporate review activities. you will support the Internal Audit team to deliver the programme of audit work that will provide assurance to others about how the Council is managing its work. This exciting opportunity will allow the Apprentice to join a small team of qualified auditors who will support you as you learn about the profession and develop your own skills to enable you to undertake internal audit work. You will work with managers and services across the Council and as such will gain an understanding of the workings of the different Council directorates and will develop skills in planning and delivering internal audits, evaluating risks, and reporting the outcomes of your work. At the end of the apprenticeship, you will have achieved a formal Level 4 qualification in Internal Auditing.

Eligibility for this apprenticeship:

For this position, you will already hold at least a Level 2 or GCSE A*-C / 4-9 in Maths and English*

AND

Have at least two A-Level passes OR another Level 3 qualification e.g. apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC Extended Diploma in any subjects OR 2+ years work experience in a relevant field.

*If you hold an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), a statement of special educational needs (SEN) or a learning difficulty assessment (LDA) this criterion may not apply and you will be assessed individually.

You will not be eligible  for the apprenticeship if you  already hold an equivalent level or higher-level Auditing qualification.

You must also meet at  least one  of the additional set criteria for eligibility for our apprenticeship positions:

– You are a current resident of the London Borough of Hackney 

– You are a current student at a Hackney education institution (school, college, university, PRU/alternative provision, Adult Learning provision)

– You are a former student at a Hackney secondary education institution and completed at least one GCSE or equivalent Level 2 qualification there

– You are a current or former recipient of Hackney leaving care services.

To access Apprenticeship training funding, you must also:

– Hold a British/EEA passport or have permission from the UK government to live in the UK AND

– Have been resident in the UK or EEA for at least the last three years. If you are a resident of the EEA, you must have settled or confirmed settled status in the UK.

You must be able to evidence that you meet the eligibility criteria. Please ensure that you have read the eligibility criteria in the Job Description & Person Specification. You will not be eligible if you cannot provide this evidence.
