The Opportunity


We’re looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join the Technology team and help us redefine the future of rewards. Working closely with our InfoSec Manager you’ll be at the forefront of our Security efforts and be responsible for the delivery of our overall strategy across core pillars of security including: Product & Platform Security; and Security Operations.

Information security is a growing team and therefore the successful candidate will (on occasion) also be required to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and be hands-on. Over time, as you mature the function, your role and focus will evolve – this is your chance to transform along with a growing business.



Responsibilities

  • First point of call for IT technical issues.
  • Ongoing IT device management, maintenance, and support.
  • Mobile device management (MDM) for Mac devices. May include Windows devices.
  • Security engineering and vulnerability management across the internal IT estate including staff endpoints, office networks, other auxiliary IT assets.
  • Management of users and permissions within Google Workspace, Slack, and other internal software services.
  • Resolving issues with IT equipment - laptops, printers, monitors.
  • Ensuring good security practices and security compliance requirements are followed in key areas of identity & access management, security engineering, IT vendor management, multi factor authentication, password management, zero trust environment.
  • Triage of security events and incidents raised by security tooling, colleagues, and partners
  • Uses and interprets results from SIEM and develops actions for engineering teams.
  • Works to continually improve security posture through reporting and security response.
  • Makes pragmatic & risk-informed decisions without supervision.
  • Works with the wider organisation to advise on security best practices for key business initiatives and technical implementations
  • Ability to pick up and be comfortable with new technical systems.


Skills

  • IT administrative experience.
  • Able to work with a wide range of people; from highly technical software engineers to non technical users.
  • Experience with Macs & Google Workspace.
  • Experience with securing or managing a secure environment.
  • Experience working closely with internal and external auditors ensuring policies (i.e. PCI-DSS) are adhered to.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, cloud & engineering-focused business and influencing the engineering process.
  • Knowledge of OWASP top 10 security vulnerabilities.
  • Understanding of common infrastructure, network, application vulnerabilities and security best practice
  • Broad knowledge of malware and data loss prevention.
  • Understands common threat actors, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Understanding and interest in keeping up to date knowledge on the wider threat landscape
