HR Manager or similar position experience vital

The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's human resources activities and ensuring they align with Bubala’s standards and expectations. The role requires fostering a positive work environment, developing strategic HR initiatives, and mentoring staff for professional growth. Ideal candidates should have strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills to ensure a motivated and engaged team.

Duties and responsibilities,including but not limited to:

People & Communication Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring  that E.R.I.C (Expression, Resilience, Integrity, Compassion ); the company's values are being upheld 

  • Responsible for ensuring that the required recruitment needs are met.

  • Being the main point of contact for all people performance queries across Bubala 

  • Working on solutions regarding any issues with team performance tasks reported by the General Manager.

  • Supporting the restaurants in ensuring ongoing structured feedback and performance evaluations to the teams.

  • Developing and implementing progression, training and development plans.

  • Ensuring job descriptions are kept up to date and relevant as per the market standard. 

  • Ensuring Bubala is continually looking to improve upon leadership and communication skills.

  • Supporting management of the restaurant group in providing guidance for end of probation meetings with all members of the team.

  • Reporting on a routine basis retention throughout the departments in the company. 

  • Ensuring pay rates are relevant and competitive in relation to the market. 

  • Supporting restaurant management by conducting internal team member catch ups throughout the year in conjunction with the Restaurant Operations Manager.

  • Ensuring exit interviews with all employees who leave the company are being conducted and reporting back to the site management any specific areas of praise or improvement that are raised are being communicated to the relevant departments and actioned as necessary.

  • Satisfactory team participation in annual engagement surveys. 

  • Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Ensuring  an internal HR audit on a monthly basis is being conducted and that the business is compliant with a focus on right to work legislation in particular. 

  • Ensuring that new starters are on boarded effectively.

  • Ensuring that birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations are acknowledged on Workplace. 

  • Working closely with the D&I advocate in ensuring that Bubala is actively participating within the community through local initiatives. 

  • Writing and administering the annual team member engagement survey and ensuring that actions are  being followed throughout the year ahead. 

KPIs

  • Leading the team by example in and out of the workplace.

  • Ensuring  team member catch ups for all employees are taking place on a three month rotation as a minimum.

  • Company wide Internal HR audit completed at a satisfactory level (80%) 

  • Employee retention rates at a satisfactory level, excluding mitigating circumstances (70%) 

  • Employee turnover rate: 75% response on Bubala employee satisfaction survey 

Service & Operations Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Being responsible that the restaurant has all the required training resources to ensure each location functioning as set out by the brand standards 

  • Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment across the company. 

  • Represent the restaurant at industry events and meetings.

  • Ensuring that all onboarding documentation is being correctly issued across the company. 

  • Assuming the role of mediator where needed in the business .

  • Research and provide resources required for employee’s needs where required and appropriate.

  • Oversee onboarding procedures to ensure accurate documentation and compliance.  

  • Ensuring policies, handbooks and other contractual materials are kept up to date, relevant and lawfully compliant.

  • Assisting in payroll on a monthly basis, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a prompt and timely manner as they arise. 

  • Ensuring that the perks & benefits that the company offers are robust and competitive within the market 

  • Ensuring the team has the correct signposting regarding perks, benefits and rewards.

  • Ensuring that the team is utilising wellness resources and new ideas are being considered and implemented across the company.

KPIs

  • Ensuring that employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities as described in their job descriptions. 

  • Leading by example for the team at all levels. 

  • Ensuring payroll is completed on a monthly basis.

  • Completed MFHA.

Quality & Development Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Taste and inspect products routinely when in the business and feedback anything praise or points of improvement to the senior support team.

  • Visit the restaurants for dinner once a month and conduct a dining audit, this will be complimentary. 

  • Support in ensuring accurate training resources are available for food and beverage items.  

  • Actively suggesting new improvements surrounding service and best ways to optimise to the senior support team.

  • Identify any ongoing concerns surrounding the quality control directly to the senior support team

  • Actively supporting the group management team by ensuring correct progression plans are being followed. 

  • Actively seeking new workshops and training providers to support the growth of the company. 

  • Actively seeking resources to promote professional development across the company. 

KPIs

  • Internal feedback audits conducted and feedback twice a month.

  • Supporting and guiding the team’s  professional development. 

  • Quarterly training workshops.
