Head Of Software in Cambridgeshire

Title: Head of Software (hands-on)

Salary: £85,000 + shares and profit share

Location: Cambridge, UK

Working Environment: Hybrid

SoCode Recruitment has partnered with a very well-known and high-growth supplements company based in Cambridge .

This company operates a very successful subscription-based service and is leading the way in its field due to its patent-protected products developed here in Cambridge.

This company is currently looking for a hands-on Head of Software to lead their growing team.

You will be responsible for leading a small web development team while driving all technology decisions across a number of e-commerce web applications .

You will manage all resource allocation and workload distribution within the team while also playing a role across the wider management team to meet business goals.

You will be working with a number of technologies, their core technology stack is currently React.

js, Node.

js, GoLang, and AWS whilst they continue to retire PHP and Magento.

The team is described as social , relaxed , flexible, and hardworking .

Located in the center of Cambridge and operates in a hybrid model of two days per week in the office to foster collaboration but to also support a healthy work/life balance.

Requirements for this opportunity:

• Proven technical leadership experience, mentoring junior developers.
• The ability to communicate across the business into non-technical functions.
• Knowledge of building technical roadmaps and software architecture .
• JavaScript and/or GoLang skills (strong commercial experience in at least one) and a willingness to use either as appropriate.
• AWS knowledge or any other cloud service would also be a plus.
• E-commerce experience, ideally working with Shopify, BigCommerce or Magento
