Due to continued success and growth, our Client, an impressive, well established employer, headquartered in Newry, with multiple sites across the UK and Ireland, wishes to appoint an exciting, new Head of People & Culture.

This is a new, senior Leadership role, pivotal in leading the People & Culture function whilst delivering high performance against KPIs and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful Head of People & Culture will manage an established team and lead the organisational design and people & culture strategy to ensure commercial objectives are attained.

The Role:

  • Key member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the People & Culture team while developing and implementing the company's people agenda
  • Lead the organisation design of the company to ensure commercial objectives are attained
  • Responsible for developing and managing the learning and development strategy, creating and managing talent pools and building career pathways and implementing training programmes where necessary
  • Oversee employee relations activity - disciplinary, grievances, absence management, performance management and litigation
  • Ensure the organisation's People & Culture policies and procedures are followed
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and teams within the business to enhance overall organisational performance and oversee the Annual Performance Management process
  • Proactively lead reward strategies, collating external benchmarking and providing recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Development of a succession planning system to ensure the best talent is identified and developed, including the promotion of a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Conduct research and analysis of key employee data, via surveys, focus groups and external market trends
  • Champion a high performance culture, making recommendations for improvements

The Person:

  • CIPD membership or working towards this would be desirable
  • 3rd Level qualification in a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role (Head of or Manager) in a fast paced, commercial environment
  • Experience across the HR/People function, including learning and development
  • Evidence of building progressive engagement, talent management and succession planning strategies that develop all colleagues to their potential, create a culture of trust and recognition, and ensure a pipeline of future leaders for the organisation
  • Working knowledge of NI employment legislation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Excellent people Leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Able to demonstrate the application of continuous improvement techniques
  • Results orientated
